Job Description : Bookkeeper / Office Manager

A large Swiss company is looking for an office manager/bookkeeper for their small USA office in Boonton, NJ.
Manager will oversee the office staff to accomplish responsibilities below.
The individual in this role will be responsible for the accounting duties and overall office management.

  • G/L maintenance, including month-end adjustments, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare Financial Statements, reports as well as month-end and year-end closings.
  • Sales tax reporting.
  • Inventory management, including costing, purchasing, import coordination from Europe, and reconciliation.
  • Benefits administration.
  • Generate accounts payable and resolve accounts payable related issues.
  • Process vendor invoices and expense reports, as well as accounts payable check runs.
  • Bank deposits, wire transfers and bank reconciliation.
  • Create invoices, credit memos as well as accounts receivable collections and resolve A/R issues.
  • Work with staff to ensure company policy are followed and all accounting documents are complete/ consistent and file in a timely manner.
  • Assist accountants with tax return preparation.
  • Generate documents for the annual audit.
  • Oversee all office procedures and personnel.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for accuracy, especially errorā€free data entry.
  • Ability to resolve practical problems independently.
  • Maintain confidentiality and be discrete with information.
  • Take on other assignments as directed by immediate superior.

    Job Requirements:


  • 5-7 years of office management/bookkeeping experience.
  • Accounting Degree or equivalent required.
  • QuickBooks or equivalent required.
  • Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and word a must).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work alone or with little supervision.
  • Positive, cooperative attitude is very important! We want a pleasant office.
